PWC History

In November 1981, Rev. Michael Hiller was called by the Rocky Mountain District Board of Directors to start a mission church in southeast Aurora. On February 14, 1982 an organizational meeting of the church was attended by 35 people. The first church service was held on March 7, 1982 with 130 people in attendance. The Lord has used PWC in many ways to serve His purposes in its years of existence.

Worship services and Sunday School were first held in Cimarron Elementary School. Less than two years after the church’s first service, construction of a new church facility, designed to seat 300 people, was completed. PWC moved in to the new church in January 1984. PWC’s growth continued at a fast pace that required renting interim Sunday School space at the nearby AMC theaters and at a day care center in the Seven Hills Shopping Center in 1986-1990. In September 1990, another addition was completed to the church. PWC was able to add some office space and some much needed classroom space. In late 1997 the addition of the Worship Center/Gym and additional classrooms was completed. Peace With Christ Christian School opened its doors in the fall of 1994 with 63 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.

The growth of PWC has also necessitated an increase of professional staff. PWC now has John Paulus, Donna Patton, and John Fritz serving full time on its staff.

Kristen Stelling is the Director of the Early Learning Center that was started in 1987. Warren Paul is our school principal. Rev. David Hay and Lisa Paulison are counselors. These people have been a great blessing to our church as they faithfully serve the Lord.
