At Peace with Christ our hearts are heavy after hearing the news of the devastation coming from Haiti after the strongest earthquake in more then 200 years. The quake measured 7.2 on the Richter scale, and was centered 10 miles from Port-au-Prince, the nation’s largest city. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere where the average citizen earns $2 per day.
Many Peach with Christ members have asked how they can help. After our service today, there was a special offering in the front hall that we will share between the American Red Cross and Compassion International. Both of these organizations are using special funds immediately to provide assistance to children and families affected by this crisis.
Finally, we ask that you keep the families, government, missionaries, organizations and relief workers in your prayers and offer your financial support through any of the following organizations. There will be many difficult days ahead for Haiti and we ask for His peach to surround this country and its purpose.

The Peace with Christ Spiritual Growth website is an accompanying site which provides helpful resources for becoming more spiritually mature.
What is Spiritual Growth?
Spiritual growth is the active pursuit to follow and become more like Jesus Christ. Spiritual growth may include: (1) expanding you knowledge and understanding of God’s Word, (2) increasing your practice of Christ-like qualities, and (3) growing in your faith and trust in God and (4) decreasing in your frequency and severity of sin.
Spiritual growth is a life-long journey and occurs through reading and applying God’s Word to your life. Since God works through people in different ways, some people grow rapidly, while others grow slowly, but steadily. Focus should not be on comparing ourselves with others, but on comparing ourselves with God’s Word.
Whether you are a brand new follower of Christ, wondering where to get started on your journey, or a mature follower looking to grow in His word, the Peace with Christ website has been developed to assist you in finding books, websites, online bible study, or activities to enhance your experience and assist you in your spiritual growth journey.
