Intellectual – “Learning“
This pathway is characterized by people who want to fully dig into a scripture or topic. They love to engage their whole mind in discovering truth and how to apply this truth in their lives. The emotional response to faith does not have much impact on them but they enjoy the challenge of thinking things through. They are challenged by great books, theological expositions, seminars and are drawn to like-minded people with whom they can learn. Choose spiritual growth opportunities that will build your mind and take you to a deeper level of understanding the nature of God and his truth.
Guard against being puffed up with knowledge and losing faith connection with your heart. Don’t use your understanding as a mark of superiority or maturity over others. To find balance, you need to have times of worship focused on the one who reveals all truth and wisdom.
